A surprising remix of Beyoncé’s song “America Has a Problem” featuring Kendrick Lamar has been released. The song was published on Friday, May 19, by the artist, who is presently performing in the UK as part of her Renaissance world tour.
Lamar raps in the beginning of the song, which was first released as part of the Renaissance album. The performer raps about using artificial intelligence in music as well as being a “honorary Beyhive” member (a Beyoncé lover). He raps, “Even AI gotta practice clonin’ Kendrick.” The encore remnants and the double entendre.
The two most recently collaborated on the track “Freedom” from Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade. Days after the Renaissance World Tour’s concerts began in Sweden, Beyoncé performed her first UK engagement in Cardiff earlier this week. It is her first major international tour in seven years. The 41-year-old performer dons costumes by high-end designers including Alexander McQueen, Loewe, and Mugler during the performance.
Before beginning a five-show residency at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London on Monday, May 29, she will play in Sunderland on Tuesday (23 May), Edinburgh on Saturday (20 May), and Edinburgh on Saturday (May 20). Beyoncé demonstrated that she is “as sizzling as ever” and “no longer has to go above and beyond to prove it” on stage, according to Nicole Vassell of The Independent in her four-star review of the Cardiff performance.
“The show ends as the album does, with the Donna Summer-infused tonic ‘Summer Renaissance’,” she writes. “Suspended by ropes, Beyoncé literally rides her disco horse into the distance, leaving in her wake the thousands left marvelling at her musical and visual voyage they’ve been a part of.
