Legendary rapper Lil Wayne recently joined the All The Smoke podcast, and discussed Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant once again waving a gun on social media. Wayne gave some interesting perspective, talking about some of the things he did when he was younger, and how it may have been even worse if he grew up in a small town like Morant did.
“He comes from a town of like 3,000 people,” Wayne said. “What y’all expect? Y’all gave him $200 million. I just said a town with 3,000 people. You expect him to be responsible? Nah, we’re tripping then.”

There have been a lot of differing opinions regarding this Morant situation, some sharing opinions similar to Wayne’s, and others siding with somebody like Charles Barkley who says Morant’s status as an NBA star comes with higher standards than other people his age.
While the world weighs in on what is Morant’s second gun video incident in two months, the NBA is investigating the situation and determining an appropriate punishment. The Grizzlies point guard was suspended for eight games last season for the exact same offense, and will likely be facing an even longer suspension this time around.
